We have contacted several relevant federal and governmental bodies in both the United States and the European Union regarding the concerns raised by the agreement. It may take some time for these authorities to review the matter and respond to us.
We have asked them to review the terms of the agreement and assess whether any provisions may violate applicable laws or regulations, and whether certain clauses are legally enforceable within their respective jurisdictions.
In the meantime, if you wish to maintain your collaboration with IQVIA, our recommendation is to sign the agreement for the time being. This is not an endorsement of the terms or an indication that we consider them acceptable. Rather, it is a practical measure while we await feedback from the relevant authorities. If any provisions are found to be unlawful or unenforceable, we hope that IQVIA will be required to address and amend the agreement accordingly.
Unfortunately, we do not have the authority to determine or control IQVIA's actions, but we are doing everything within our means to raise these concerns with the appropriate bodies and put as much institutional pressure as possible on the issues that have been brought to our attention.
We are also working on a Discord channel, which will be ready soon. We will invite our followers and members to join, giving everyone a space to discuss this matter and other issues affecting our profession in a more private environment and, where desired, with greater anonymity.
